Presentations and feedback in English 1

This is a kind reminder to all students that have submitted their ppt in preparation for the Oral presentation in January and uploaded their answers re: November  task in Lore but did not give feedback to the person posting after them in the Discussion.

Feedback is an essential part of your assessment requirement and learning process. If you dont submit substantive feedback to the person posting after you in the Discussion (Lore Platform) your assignment will still be regarded as incomplete.

Giving feedback to peers is a valuable tool and makes people aware of possible changes and improvements. That is why, it is really important to give them feedback on the content, style and organisation of each slide. A vague and flattering remark like  “I never knew how fascinating the porperties of metamaterials” are is not substantive. It is just a positive comment you can start your feedback with. Flattering doesnot help your peers improve as it does not give them any insight as to what needs to be changed.
